This "lifestyle guide" started on Instagram
, one of the most popular social media networks focusing on sharing life through a series of pictures. Men's fashion, clean haircuts, cars, liquor, dedicated & talented barbers, musicians, travel destinations, classic to urban artwork, gentlemen to crooks, and of course attractive women were posted up. Every single photo posted is always accompanied by a tag linked directly to the person's account where the photo was discovered and is never taken credit by COMBOVERCROOKS unless, of course, the photo was captured by Carlo himself.

How did COMBOVERCROOKS start?
In the February 2013, the name COMBOVERCROOKS was created by a barber/hairstylist, Carlo Abalos, who married two words together, "COMBOVER" and "CROOK. In that year, the hairstyle trend for modern day gentlemen was a haircut that was brought back from past that consisted of lengthier hair on top that was styled to comb over to the side and back with a side part. This style referred recently to a simpler term as the "combover" in most barbershops. The image of a man in your mind who carried this hairstyle gave off the vibe of exactly what the definition of a gentleman is. A gentleman being a sharp, courteous, polished, and honorable. Now what's the opposite of a gentleman? A scoundrel, wrongdoer, con man, a CROOK. COMBOVERCROOKS was made and the name just stuck. It surprisingly caught the attention we didn't know it would have today.
